Practice Experience:
Dr. Fugate joined The Pediatric Group (TPG) in July 1999. Prior to joining TPG, Dr. Fugate was an assistant professor of biology at Pikeville College in Kentucky.

Education:
Dr. Fugate earned her B.S. and Masters Degree in biology from Morehead State University. She also completed a secondary education program before becoming a college instructor. She attended medical school at the University of Louisville and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996. She completed both her internship and residency at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.

Certification and licensures:
She is licensed in Virginia and is board certified by The American Board of Pediatrics.

Organizations:
Dr. Fugate is a fellow member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Personal:
Dr. Fugate and her husband enjoy traveling, sports and cooking.
